RJ Sangram Inspires Media Students at Induction 2024 with the Power of Reading & Creativity

The School of Media and Communication at Pimpri Chinchwad University, Pune began its academic year with an inspiring Induction Program 2024 for the new batch of students from the BBA Media & Communication and B.Sc. Animation, VFX & Multimedia Sciences programs. The event was graced by RJ Sangram (Sangram Khopade), one of Pune’s most celebrated voices and a popular radio jockey from Big FM.

RJ Sangram, who is also known for his impactful TEDx talks on time management and purposeful living, addressed the students with a thought-provoking session on the importance of reading and creativity in shaping a career in media, communication, and the creative industries. He emphasized the simple yet powerful habit of reading one book every month and how it builds imagination, broadens perspectives, and fuels innovation — skills that are vital for aspiring media professionals, filmmakers, animators, and communication managers.

Speaking directly to the students, he shared how reading nurtures storytelling abilities, strengthens content creation, and sharpens critical thinking — qualities that the media and entertainment industry demands today. His words resonated strongly with the young audience, setting the tone for an exciting academic journey ahead.

PCU Signs MoU with AatPat Productions to Empower Media Students with Industry Opportunities

Pimpri Chinchwad University (PCU) has taken a major step toward bridging academia and the entertainment industry with a landmark MoU signing with AatPat Productions, the acclaimed film production company behind the blockbuster Sairaat.

The MoU was signed by Gargee Kulkarni, Executive Producer and Co-Founder of AatPat Productions, alongside her husband and visionary filmmaker Nagraj Manjule, who is also a co-founder of the company. With this collaboration, students of the School of Media & Communication at PCU will gain exclusive access to internships, workshops, and masterclasses conducted by industry professionals.

Speaking at the occasion, Gargee Kulkarni emphasized the importance of hands-on learning in film and media. As an Executive Producer, she has been instrumental in shaping projects that merge authentic storytelling with strong production values — a model that PCU students will now directly experience. This partnership will not only enhance their technical skills in filmmaking, VFX, production, and media management, but also expose them to the real-world dynamics of the entertainment industry.

VFX Producer Pankaj Sonawane Inspires Media Students with Insights from Film Production

We're honored to share that Pankaj Sonawane, the accomplished VFX Producer at SM Rolling FX, enriched our Media Batch Induction with an engaging masterclass in film production and post-production workflows.

Pankaj brings extensive experience working across a spectrum of productions—from blockbuster Hollywood titles like Transformers: Age of Extinction and Guardians of the Galaxy, to contemporary releases such as Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire. At SM Rolling FX, he shapes visual narratives by bridging creative vision with technical execution

During the session, Pankaj emphasized the importance of mastering tools like Photoshop, Premiere Pro, and After Effects, while also understanding the broader ecosystem of film production and VFX. His guidance highlighted how media professionals — be it in filmmaking, animation, or digital content — must couple creative storytelling with post-production expertise.

He also spoke about the role of continuing education, staying curious and bridging traditional filmmaking craft with cutting-edge visual effects.
